It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ace Calvin Workman, III, who passed away on June 10, 2026, at NHC HealthCare Clinton at the age of 74.
Born on December 29, 1951, Ace was a lifelong resident of Clinton, South Carolina. He was a graduate of Clinton High School Class of 1970 and University of South Carolina, 1975, where he played tenor saxophone in the Carolina Band.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris Suber Workman and Ace Calvin Workman, Jr.
Ace will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Erin Workman (Kieran) and Kayli Smith (Timbo); his granddaughters, Emmie and Madilyn Smith; his brother, Henry Workman (Denise); and his nieces, McKenzie and Hannah Workman. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Ace was known for his sense of humor and the joy he brought to those around him. He loved playing and listening to music and sharing laughter with family and friends. He played guitar in numerous bands and could always be counted on to lead singalongs at family gatherings.
A celebration of Ace’s life will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 11 A.M. on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Family and friends are invited to honor his memory and celebrate the life of a man who brought laughter, love, and music to so many. The family will receive friends at St. John’s directly after the service.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the memories he gave us and the love he shared. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
