Jeannie Frazier Freeman, born December 6, 1960, passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 65. She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and a life marked by faith, sacrifice, and unconditional love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Frazier and R.D. Frazier, and her brothers Michael Frazier, Steve Frazier, and Kenny Frazier.
Jeannie is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Bobby Freeman; her siblings Deronda Nichols, Pam Butler, Ricky Frazier, Donna Morris, and Reggie Frazier; and the children and grandchildren who were the center of her world.
She was the proud mother of her daughter, Melissa Odom (Kenneth), and son, Daniel McCarson (Ashley). She was also the loving mother of Michael Freeman.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren include:
Hunter Odom (Hannah), Stetson Odom;
Kyra McCarson (Joey), Katelyn McCarson, Colton McCarson;
Chandler Freeman, Dillon Freeman, Cason Freeman, Caleb Freeman (Jayla), Ali Freeman, Colton Freeman, Natalie Freeman, and Briley Freeman.
Jeannie also held a special place in her heart for her daughter-in-love, Mandy Brownlee, and for her cherished cat, Snowbird, who brought her joy and comfort throughout her life.
She worked early in life at the Clinton Cotton Mill and later as an insurance agent, before dedicating herself fully to being a stay-at-home mom — a role she embraced with pride and purpose. Her children always came first. She made sure they had everything they needed, not just materially, but emotionally and spiritually.
Jeannie loved to fish and spend time with her family. Some of the most cherished memories include her playing basketball in the yard with her kids and taking them fishing. Growing up, she loved picking flowers for her mother, Helen — a simple reflection of the gentle, loving heart she carried throughout her life.
She loved music, especially her favorite band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and often reminded her boys to live their lives with the wisdom of the song Simple Man: with honesty, humility, and love.
Her faith guided her every step. She lived her life for the Lord and was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Laurens, South Carolina.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Pam Butler for her loving care during in-home hospice, and to VIA Hospice of Laurens County for their compassion and support.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.
Jeannie will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a woman of strong faith, and the heart of her family. Her love, warmth, and gentle spirit — and even the joy she shared with Snowbird — will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
