David Lee Godwin, age 72, of Gray Court, and husband of Lela Pauline Godwin passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at his home.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina he was the son of Grace Price Godwin and the late Paul Deberry Godwin.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, David Paul Godwin (Holly) of Gray Court, Joseph Patrick Godwin (Cayla) of Laurens, and Matthew Randall Godwin of Clinton; grandchildren Lathen Godwin (Emily), Bryson Simmons, Kale Simmons, Mason Perry, Chloe Perry, Landon Godwin, and Jayden Godwin; great-grandchild, Memphis Godwin; sisters, Barbara Haley and Charlotte Mooney; brother, Olin Godwin.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a sister and a brother, Sharon and Ronnie.
A service will be held at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church- East Campus (22088 US-76 E Laurens, SC) 2:00 PM, on Friday, December 15, 2023 conducted by Dr. Don McCutcheon.
