Judy Pugh

Judy Pugh passed away on June 26, 2026, just one week before her 41st wedding anniversary, after a long and courageous battle with chronic lung disease.

Judy’s life was defined by her love for her family. She is survived by her husband of nearly forty-one years, Steve “Jethro” Pugh; her sons, Joshua and Paxton; Christy and Amanda, whom Judy loved as daughters she never had; and her cherished grandchildren, Jaelynn, Gabbi, Korbin, Rhyan, and Morgan.

For over four decades, Judy and Steve built a life together founded on Love, friendship, and commitment to one another. Through life’s joys and challenges, they always found a way forward, facing each season with strength and perseverance, bound by an everlasting Love rooted in the certainty of the Spirit.

Judy found happiness in life’s simple moments—raising her sons and teaching them a love for nature and life, watching her grandchildren grow from babies in her arms into remarkable young people, and spending time with Steve and the family and friends they loved most.

She was an avid horse lover from a very young age, jumping fences in the 1950s to ride bareback on her neighbor’s stallion, a passion she carried throughout her life until illness overruled her dreams of helping the wild mustangs out West.

She was known for her beautiful eyes and smile, her kindness, compassion, quiet determination, and inner strength. She was her own person and never sought recognition, but her warmth and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Judy was a graphic designer and an artist working in multiple media. At the age of 60, she returned to college to earn her degree and became a Veterinary Technician, with dreams of one day caring for horses professionally.

Her greatest legacy, however, is the family she loved so deeply. She will be profoundly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Though Judy’s earthly journey has ended, those she left behind take comfort in knowing that she is without the struggle and pain her human experience had become. We find peace in knowing she has rejoined her beloved sister Jan, who was her best friend in life, along with her brother Jimmy, and her Mom and Dad. The love she shared here continues in the lives she touched and in the everlasting Spirit that guided her life.
