Keith Young, age 60, passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer at home on June 16,
2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on June 30, 1965, Keith spent most of his life in Massachusetts and the last four years in
Mountville, South Carolina. He was known for his love of God, his willingness to make
strangers feel welcome and important, and his inclination to help others. He enjoyed building
shelters, fencing, and other projects for the chickens in the rescue, watching the chickens, and
creating YouTube stories. During his illness, Keith especially cherished time spent talking with
family and sharing stories, music, and memories. He proudly served in the United States Army
as a Military Police officer.
Keith is survived by his wife, Tricia Young; his father, Robert Young; and his brothers, Kenneth
Cronin and his wife, Paula Cronin, and their children, Kaileen Cronin and Kylie Cronin; Ronnie
Young and his wife, Nicole Young, and their children, Jacob Young and Avery Young; and
Robert Young and his children, Zachery Young and Michael Young.
He is also survived by his children and stepchildren: Daniel Young, Amanda Young, Timothy
Young, Ashley Hansen and her husband, Dan Hansen, and their children, Madeline Taylor and
Brady Hansen; Kathryn Marie and her husband, Justin Marie; Elizabeth Bishop and her husband,
Jeremy Bishop, and their daughters, Samantha Slack and Scarlett Bishop; and Kaiden
Walichnowski.
Keith is also survived by his loyal Akita, Keko, who stayed by his side and will miss their daily
long walks; his cat, Simba, who sat on his hospital bed or his shoulders while he battled cancer;
and his two favorite roosters, Bert and Tory, who provided comfort during his illness simply by
being themselves.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Mullen Young.
The family would like to thank the many friends, relatives, caregivers, healthcare professionals,
and hospice staff who provided support, prayers, and compassion throughout Keith’s illness.
In accordance with Keith’s wishes, there will be no funeral, memorial service, or celebration of
life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to crazy4chickens.org, a nonprofit chicken rescue for
neglected, abused, and disabled hens and roosters. The rescue is operated by Keith and Tricia
Young, Kaiden Walichnowski, and Timothy Young.
Keith will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by those who knew and loved him.
