Larry Wayne Smitherman, Jr. of 190 Little Brooke Drive Fountain Inn, SC went to sleep in death on September 22, 2023. He had been sick for several years due to kidney disease. Prior to his sickness, he was a plant worker and a professional cake baker and decorator. Wayne loved spending time with his family. In his earlier years, he loved to go fishing with his son and it was a desire of his to take his first grandson fishing but due to failing health, that was not possible. Although he was only 52 years old, simple things became a real challenge for him. Later in life, his favorite pass time was spending time with his grandchildren. Just recently he said to his sister, “Grandchildren are very special.” We will miss our son, brother, Dad, and Papa but we have the hope of seeing him again someday.

He is survived by his mother Kathy Griffith (Clarence), two sisters Leslie Mcateer and Crystal Barrow (Jim), one son Trey Smitherman. He had three grandchildren, Axel Wayne Smitherman, Michaela Rose Smitherman, and Kylen Elijah Smitherman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Wayne Smitherman, Sr.

A memorial service will be held in the very near future at Wayne’s home, a place he dearly loved.
