Michael “Mike” A. Whitmire

Michael “Mike” A. Whitmire of Clinton entered into eternal rest on May 4, 2021.

Mike is survived by his son, Justin Whitmire of Greenville; his sister, Sonya (Tim) Tschappt of Laurens; his nephew, Austin Brewington of Laurens; his great-nephew, Carter Brewington of Clinton; his stepmother, Anita Whitmire of Belton; and a special best friend of the home, Cindy Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin M. Whitmire; his mother, Anita W. Hill; and his stepfather, Ed Hill.

Mike retired from Laurens County School District 56, where he faithfully served as a System Analyst Technology Specialist.

Mike was a kind soul who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a special way of making people laugh and feel heard while in his company. He loved getting to know people on a personal level and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. It was hard not to smile when Mike was around, as he truly never met a stranger. He was deeply family-oriented, and his ability to light up a room was something truly special. For that reason, he will be greatly missed by many, especially his family and friends.

No services are planned at this time. A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
