Sheila Bailey Simmons

Sheila Bailey Simmons, born August 23, 1957, went to be with The Lord on May 14, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.

Sheila was born in Buchanan County, Virginia to the late Herbert and Ruby Charles Bailey. She loved crocheting, true crime television shows and above all on this earth, her grandchildren; Logan, Gray, Harper, Chloe, Declan and EJ. She never came in contact with a stranger, everyone loved sitting and talking with her. Mom had a listening ear for everyone from the time I could remember, she was a great friend to all.

On Sunday mornings you could find her sitting in Welcome Baptist Church until her health would no longer let her. Welcome Baptist truly was a second home along with everyone in it. You can look around the Sanctuary and see her from all of the lap blankets hanging on the back of the pews.

Sheila is survived by her husband Charles Simmons of Gray Court, daughter, Brandie Walker Kuiper (Joel) of Fountain Inn, grandchildren Logan, Grayson, Harper, Chloe, Declan and EJ, sisters, Sharon Johnson of Laurens, Teresa Hurley (Ray), of Gray Court along with many nieces and nephews that she loved so very much. She was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Ruby Bailey, step-sons, Wayne Walker and David Simmons, brothers, Leonard (Sam) Bailey, Junior Bailey, Darrell Bailey, Michael (Mike) Bailey, Ricky Bailey, sisters, Carolyn Manley and Tamela (Tammy) Bailey Shaddix

We invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life honoring my Mother, Sheila Bailey Simmons, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Welcome Baptist Church on Hwy 14 in Laurens, SC. A reception for friends and family will be held from 2:00-3:00 pm, preceding the 3:00 pm service.
